Historical palace of Nasouri in Siraf
Nasouri Siraf Castle is one of the historical monuments and one of the spectacular attractions of Bushehr province in the south of Iran. This fort is located in Siraf port of the central part of Kangan city, 250 km east of Bushehr.
Nasouri Castle, which is also known as Sheikh Castle and Sheikh Jabbar Nasuri Mansion, was built in 1802 by the order of Sheikh Jabbar Nasouri, the ruler of Siraf and Kangan. Sheikh Nasouri managed the affairs of the city from this place and lived in the same space. The fort was later and completed gradually by the descendants of Sheikh Jabbar. The architect of this Qajar building was Ali Asghar Shirazi. The building of Nasouri Siraf Castle was built on a hill overlooking the sea, so that large wooden side of the south side faces the Persian Gulf. The building consists of two inner and outer courtyards and a royal part. The castle is made of large stones and mortar of mud and plaster.
The building is decorated with beautiful plaster paintings with plant motifs, angels and birds. The castle porch also has stone columns and interesting plasterings. This building, like a number of other coastal mansions in the Persian Gulf, has a windbreak. In the ledges of the west porch of the castle, there are eighteen bed-painted paintings with the themes of Shahnameh stories. Nasuri Siraf Castle was inhabited by the Nasuri family until 1977. This castle was registered in the list of national monuments of the country on March 16, 2000, number 3513.
