Alandan Lake which is known as Ab bandan Lake or Pele azni, is located in Alandan village, Chahardangeh section of Sari city. This lake is one of the natural and very old features of Mazandaran, which is said to date back to the Quaternary period.

The water of this lake is supplied only by rainfall and is not fed by any river or springs.What makes Alandan Lake more beautiful are the Hyrcanian forests with azalea, willow and broadleaf trees that surround it and multiply the beauty of the environment. It is interesting to know that this lake becomes the home of wild geese that come to this area in winter. The lake is located in the village of Alandan.

It should be mentioned that Alandan Lake has other sights besides this lake, which are: Pele Dam, Pele Dense Forests, Azni Peak, Marqaleh Mountain, etc.But Alandan Lake is its most beautiful sight and all travelers who visit Sari are offered to visit this place too.There are a motor boats and pedal boats on Lake Alandan, which will bring very pleasant memories for travelers.The lake does not include entrance fees and esteemed travelers can enjoy its beauty for free. It is also a good idea to bring plenty of food, extra clothing, first aid kits and other items that you think are useful to you on your trip to Lake Alandan so that you can have a good time there without worry.The area of Alandan Lake in Mazandaran province is 17 hectares, but when it rains a lot, it reaches 30 hectares.

It is interesting to know that this lake is the habitat of wild ducks in winter and it has recently been added to its uses by releasing fish in it.There is a river on the other side of Bandan Pele, which is the source of drinking water in this area, because there is no human habitat in it that could lead to water pollution. Valik and Azgil shrubs near Pele Dam exist and attracts guests and tourists in autumn.As mentioned before, the source of supply for this lake is only through rainfall. The type of soil and its location has led to all the snow and rain water flowing towards it even during the low rainfall. The impermeability of the soil has caused the water retention in this dam to increase. Medicinal and aromatic herbs, violets and elms (wild onions) are grown. This lake was registered in the list of medical heritage of Iran on November 14, 2015 with number 263.
