Semnan Arg gate

This brick gate, which stands out in the middle of the most important square of the city, belongs to the Qajar period.

Semnan Arg gate can be considered the most significant tourist attraction in Semnan. To visit this attraction and other places of interest in Semnan province, you can participate in Persiantrips tourism tours.  Some say that when Nasser al-Din Shah intended to travel to Mashhad, he stopped in the middle of the road in Semnan and stayed in this citadel for three days. Semnan Arg gate was a huge and impressive building and was completed from different parts such as telegraph office, water storage, bath, etc. There were also guard rooms inside the thick walls of the citadel. This large citadel, which had twelve different towers, was considered the center of government of the city. Since there was no gate in the northern part of the citadel, Nasser al-Din Shah ordered its construction. Today, of all the grandeur and glory, only the northern gate of the building remains, because during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, this building was destroyed due to urban construction operations. The gate was later repaired. Semnan Arg gate has two views, north and south, which are symmetrically located, and of course, its north view is more attractive. What distinguishes this part is the use of tile decorations and its minarets. Seven-color tiles make the building stand out as much as possible. In addition, the beautiful lighting has doubled the beauty of the building at night. The southern view of the gate of Semnan Arg also has two rooms that are located in both directions and in front of them porches can be seen.
