Zinat Al-Molk Historical House

Shiraz is the city of old houses and magnificent mansions. Most of these buildings were built during the Qajar era and for this reason they are still standing and undamaged. One of these mansions is called the Historical House of Zinat Al-Molk or Zinat al-Moluk. A house belonging to Mrs. Zinat al-Moluk, which has a long history in it.

Let's go and take a look at one of the houses in Shiraz during the Qajar period.

What is the history of this house?

A very important point is that the house of Zinat Al-Moluk is one of the mansions inside Qavam House. Zinat Al-Moluk was one of the members of the Qavam family who controlled Shiraz for many years and this house was inherited by his father.

The building is the interior of Qavam House, which today is only one alley away from each other and is connected through the underground. The construction of the house was completed after 12 years, in 1884. Today, this house has become one of Iran's national monuments, and its basement has become The Museum of Fars Dignitaries.

The traditional architecture of Zaint Al-Muluk House:

Due to the fact that this building used to be a place for women to live, a lot of effort has been made to hide the inner space. This protection was provided through a vestibule that prevented guests from directly entering the inner space. After the vestibule room, you will enter a beautiful yard with trees and colorful flowers where a pleasant pond cools the surrounding air.

On the opposite side of the courtyard, the main building, whose architecture is in the Qajar style, stands out. The most beautiful room of this house can be considered the royal part. A large room whose walls are decorated with mirrors and stucco.

Most of the windows also have colored mirrors and when the light passes through them, the interior of the rooms shines like a rainbow.

The stones around the yard also have grooves to ventilate the underground space. As it has been said, the lower floor of this house has become the Museum of Fars Dignitaries, of which the statue of Zinat al-Moluk herself is one of them.

Shiraz, Spring, sour orange and Zinat al-Moluk house. Wow,what a  harmonic composition!!!
